Experience Summary
I have a B.S. degree in Biology from Indiana University in Bloomington and I also have an M.B.A. I worked in the environmental field for 15 years prior. I bring in real live work experiences to the job. I taught 1 year at Providence Cristo Rey Highschool as a biology teacher. I taught grades 9/10. I attended Marion University under the Action Licensure Program and still working towards a license.
Teaching Style
As a biology teacher, I work very hard to get the students attention and interest in learning new topics in biology. I utilize various teaching methods that encourages a differentiated learning. I understand that children all learn differently and have different ways of learning and retaining information. I am big on modeling and giving examples for the students to apply what is being taught. The environment in which the student learns is important and it's also important to give the student the tools needed to be successful on new material. For example, I try to have them relate new information in science to their lives and experiences. Most importantly, I try to make biology fun.
