Experience Summary
During my college experience it became apparent to me that I loved how the brain worked, which led to my love for teaching, especially the at-risk population. I began working with the autistic population at a private clinic in November of 2004 while going to school full time at the University of Houston. I then decided to become a teacher, where I went to ACT Houston, to obtain my alternative certification to become a special education teacher. I have been teaching special education for 5 years now, focusing and teaching the core subjects.
Teaching Style
I believe that every child has the potential to became very succesful, whether they catch on quick or take some time to learn. I have a knack for working with children who require a one to one learning style. I teach to the level that they are ale to acquire the information and build from there. I am a tough teacher yet fair and understanding. I keep teaching and pushing forward until I know that they have mastered the skill they are currently living. It warms my heart to see a student learn something new.
