Experience Summary
I just recently retired after 32 years of teaching. Thirty years were in public school and two years were in private school. I am very familiar with the testing,depth of knowledge and skills needed to be successful in school. I have felt very rewarded in knowing I have helped students to become successful learners. Most of my time has been spent teaching 1st-3rd grade students,although I have spent a few years teaching 4th and 5th grade students as well. I feel I am very adept at teaching foundational skills in both reading and math.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all kinds of children. I feel my greatest strength is that I am a committed teacher who is anxious to help your child be successful at whatever subject I am teaching. I feel I am a flexible, hands-on teacher who believes that learning is a hands -on process that uses manipulatives,technology and sequential steps. I try to adapt my teaching style to the needs of the student. I try to incorporate all modalities in my teaching style (i.e. visual,tactile, auditory and kinesthetic.)I will use the approach that best suits the student. I want to help your child succeed.
