Was Director of Transition to Teaching for a nationally accredited university. Taught Sunday School f0r 30 years. My love for teaching and for the children is contageous!
Teaching Style
My core values are integrity, compassion, loyalty, commitment and dependability. I take pride in integrating these character qualities into my curriculum. I love the Direct Teaching Method, which speaks directly to a child's Learning Style (visual, tactile, auditory, etc.) I start out a session with an activity to capture the child's attention. The guided lesson in reaing, writing, math and language arts is conducted through comprehensive explanation and demonstration. I use games, manipulatives, story mapping, flashcards, just to name a few. I conclude the session with a check for comprehension and a discussion with the parent/guardian.
