Experience Summary
Having a bachelor's degree in Home Economics, required Education Courses that allowed me to obtain a job as a Bilingual Teacher in New York City. I have taught Kindergarten to 2ND Grade and also Bridge classes . As part of professional growth The board of education Granted me money to obtain varied graduate credits in Education From various colleges throughout the State.
I have a wide Variety of graduate credits,which along with me being a native Spanish Speaker, reader and writer , provided me with the tools to succeed in the education field.
I had also the great opportunity to work with adults and children with cerebral Palsy ,wich has provided me with an even broader scope in the education field.
Teaching Style
Since I have experience with younger children, disabled children and adults , I have applied both traditional, and non traditional teaching styles. Every student has different way to engage in a lesson, so it is a matter of finding the style that fits the individual.
Usually a combination of audiovisual, hands on , curriculum integration, link to every day life and one to one approach has been a good way to help the student improve in the needed content area .
It is very important to have the student take part in their own learning experience by allowing them to express their interest and likes and dislikes , this way they also become engages in the process and are more likely to enjoy a better experience.
