Experience Summary
I have recently experienced the opportunity of graduating from my dream college this past summer at Yankee Stadium with my fellow NYU friends. I started working with children early in my college career as a soccer camp coach during my summers at University of Rochester. I have acquired great customer service through working with Wegmans for about two years as well. Starting my junior year in college I was given the chance to become involved with tutoring at a high school in Brooklyn, NY. I was mostly working with students after school and helping them work on their homework that dealt with areas such as Math, Science, and English.
Teaching Style
While working with children in the high school in Brooklyn I have come up with a particular way for a student to become engaged in his work and to perform well. When a student has a question about a certain problem I usually perform the solution while he or she is looking. I then try it again with perhaps a different problem. After this, I let the student give it a try with myself making comments if they have a problem. This might have to occur another time but essentially the next step is to have the student complete a problem without the aide coming from me.
