Experience Summary
It has always been a passion of mine to work with and educate young children and youth. I began tutoring at a Elementary School for a few hours when I was in high school as well as assisted other children with math and reading on an as needed basis. When I was away at undergrad school, I was able to work with local Elementary children, but it was not on a consistent basis. Once I graduated from Undergrad, I returned home and began tutoring with my church and volunteered to work with the Sr. Youth Ministry as well. During this time period I also worked with two different tutoring companies.
Teaching Style
My teaching style varies based on the child that I am working with that time. I have worked with children with all different kinds of learning styles, so I have learned over the years that you have to be flexible and mindful of the specific child that you are working with. Through my experience I have learned to be more patient, understanding and fair when I am working with the children as well as when I am grading their assignments. During the time that I worked with tutoring companies, I was able to tutor students at their homes as well as on the weekends in a school based setting. These two working environments allowed me to have a sense of diversity in the styles of which I taught the children.
