Experience Summary
I am currently back in the Reading area after completing two years with Teach For America on Chicago's Southside. While there, I taught 9th Grade English/Test Prep and 6th Grade writing, which I loved! Two years ago, I graduated from Barnard College, which is the undergraduate women's college of Columbia University in New York. During my time in New York, I tutored many young children in English/writing and French conversation and grammar.Because of my content area, my tutoring strengths are English, writing, test-prep and grammar work. While in high school, I spent 6 months abroad in France, and continued French coursework throughout my undergraduate career. I am happy to tutor in French conversation.

Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with children of all ages. As an undergraduate, I participated in a Writing Fellowship, which allowed me to meet with students to work on their writing. Through this individualized tutoring style, I developed an appreciation for working one-on-one with students and peers, and began to develop a highly personal, creative style of tutoring. Over the course of my teaching experience, I have found that students learn best when they are comfortable yet appropriately challenged. It is my goal to distinguish the learning style of each individual student that I work with and from there, develop a plan to meet their goals.
