Experience Summary
When I was senior high school student taking AP Biology, I tutored a freshman student and helped bring up her scores for her final exam. During my time studying at the New College of Florida, Florida's honors college, I took two semesters of a class in which I prepared and taught elementary, middle, and high school students various topics in science. As a condition of obtaining my bachelors degree for the honors program, I wrote a thesis entitled, "Photorespiration: A Wasteful Relic, or a Potentially Useful Metabolic Tool?". Additionally, I have learned extensive verbal and grammatical skills from writing research papers and studying Latin.
Teaching Style
In order to comprehend a new concept, I believe that the student needs to view new material in a context that they can digest. I understand that different people have varying methods of comprehension, and I will work to find the best way to relay new information to the student. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience, and given the proper amount of dedication, anyone should be able to learn new material. I am a patient and understanding instructor, and am very understanding of the struggles of learning a new subject.
