Experience Summary
I have a BS degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I also hold certification as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist. My career field has kept me current in many clinical science fields such as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunohematology. Part of my jobs includes the instructing and training of 4th year college students while completing their internships at a working medical laboratory.
Teaching Style
I try to teach things at a basic level first. If it seems that my student is understanding the information, then I would move on to more difficult ideas. Explaining complex theories using drawings and examples helps many students. I like to ask students questions so that I know that they are comprehending what I am teaching. Students all have different ways of learning and retaining information, so it is important to find which strategy will work for each student as an individual. I am excited about science and hope to convey that in my teaching.
