Experience Summary
Even before I became an educator, I had the heart of a life-long learner. I believe I was called and gifted to be a teacher and to try to impart a love for learning to my students. I have a BA in English and French, and an MA in French Literature. In my 18 years of teaching experience, I have taught a wide variety of subjects (English, Spanish, French, Social Studies, Math) in mostly small school settings at both middle and high school levels. In addition, I have taught elementary students in various subjects. Much of my teaching has been in school settings which required individualization for my students, in effect, a tutorial model. I have tutored, as well, outside of my teaching experience.
Teaching Style
My goal for all my students is to achieve success in their learning and to recognize in themselves that they are capable of that success. With that in mind, I seek to lead and guide the students into not only discerning the answers for themselves, but to learn the method by which they can continue that success on their own. I believe that it is the teacher's responsibility to not just teach to each student's learning strengths but to also help them strengthen those areas in which they struggle.
