Experience Summary
As an English Education graduate, I have extensive knowledge teaching composition and reading. I am working toward my Masters Degree in Literacy to continue my knowledge of teaching reading and writing. I have tutored throughout my undergraduate career. Last year, I worked for teachNOLA which is a subset of Teach for America. I tutored underachieving students in English and Composition. Also, I taught at John McDonogh Senior High School in New Orleans where I was an English teacher.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching English especially reading and writing to children. Each child has their own sense of learning and I am available to teach this. I use many different teaching styles to help children succeed such as silent reading, group work and peer editing. When students are put in a situation where they are encouraged to succeed, anything can happen. I chose to teach in New Orleans because I am a firm believer that all children have the right and will to learn.
