Experience Summary
I have a strong desire to use my abilities and interests as a professional educator. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. I have a strong math, reading and social sciences core subject background. Since January of 2010 I have been serving as a substitute teacher in both Pueblo city and county school districts. This work includes providing one-on-one assistance to students who need additional support. I have also worked with students that have a variety of disabilities, from pre-school through high school. I feel I have the patience, compassion and skills needed to provide a safe and productive learning situation for all students.
Teaching Style
I feel that teaching children is a very important field of work. Our young people deserve educational training and experiences which challenge them to grow, intellectually, physically, culturally, socially and academically, regardless of disability or gifting. I am aware of various learning styles and try to adapt my teaching style to individual needs in a calm, patient, active learning setting. It's my purpose to motivate and provide a positive structured learning process where the outcomes are lasting, nurturing a lifelong love of learning,reading and exploring the world around us.
