Experience Summary
I am an educator with a repertoire of abilities that I will continually seek to hone. At the core is my ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for all of my students in which they can grow and learn. Each of my students will be a better person for knowing me and I will be a better person for knowing each of my students.
After being a paralegal for nearly 18 years, I obtained a Master’s of Science in Education. I am currently pursuing an additional certification in Special Education. I pride myself on excellent teacher/student rapport.
Teaching Style
I utlize diverse assessment techniques in order to achieve maximum learning by the students. I understand the importance of determining a child's intrinsic/extrinsic motivators.
I believe that a teacher may indeed be the center toward which the students will gravitate. However, I perceive my role of teacher as one of guidance.
I have adopted many evidence-based practices with respect to effective teaching. I have strong organizational skills. I believe that in establishing consistent guidelines at the outset and stating the importance of every activity, I will demonstrate to my students respect for their presence and time. It is my objective that each student will learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment.
