Experience Summary
I enjoy working with school age students in elementary and middle school however, I am developing a passion for preparing adults to enter the work force. I want adults to be prepared on three levels intellectually, socially, and emotionally. I want adults to be able to evaluate any situation on any instructional level whether it is math, science, and history also English. The type of education I give to adults will not only impact themselves but, their family members as well as the community.
Teaching Style
My lesson plan will accommodate the intellectual need of the student or a group of students. I believe in two types of methods for students such as constructivist and pragmatist. A constructivist teacher will build on what the students already know. I have to remember adults have knowledge about topics but, rejogging their memory will help them to bring back certain thoughts and ideas. As a constructivist instructor I can add to what the student or student does not know. I also believe in the pragmatist method. The pragmatist educator will implement new ideas of learning into their lesson plan and curriculum in order to prepare students to meet today's challenges in the work force.
