Experience Summary
I have taught both lecture and lab sections for several different chemistry courses (Organic and General Chemistry) at SUNY Dutchess in NY for ~8 years. I have also ~6 years of experience teaching General and Engineering Physics and also ~4 years of Math teaching (Basic Math, Algebra and Statistics). My experience in academia and also industry has given me the skills to reduce down chemistry, physics and math concepts down to the essential knowledge that is needed to understand the concept.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is delivered as a colleague and not a lecturer. I feel that my delivery breaks down the students inhibition towards the subject. If the lecturer teaches the concept as if only a very few can understand this, the student builds up breakers that will inhibit theor learning. If you deliver to the student as if it is common knowledge, and it is cool when it is fully understood, they will be more willing to learn.
