Experience Summary
I have attained a MS in Counseling and Psychology, and a BS in Psychology with a Math minor. Through my journey into higher education I have been fortunate enough to motivate myself and others to push through tough courses by establishing study groups. I have participated in these groups and have learned that additional study time spent with someone more familiar with a subject is the difference between passing a course the first time and dropping the course to repeat it later. Patience is very important when tutoring and I have demonstrated a calm attitude when tutoring students in algebra and statistics over the last four years. I am capable to help with various math subjects and writing especially in A.P.A. format.
Teaching Style
I believe there is more than one way to accomplish a goal so I am not limited to only one certain teaching style. I will adapt to my client. A client may learn best while sitting and discussing subjects, another client may learn better if the subject can somehow become an activity and still other clients may absorb information a different way. I am prepared to adapt my approach to ensure my clients benefit from every session. I keep my clients informed about their progress, I do not get frustrated, and I am always patient with my clients so they feel comfortable enough to take initiative. They know if they make a mistake we can seize the opportunity to discover the area we should focus on.
