Experience Summary
I have earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Biology and Master's of Science in Chemistry, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. While earning my Master's degree in Chemistry, I held the positions of Teaching Assistant and Part-Time Lecturer. For the past three years I have worked in a learning lab as a Science Specialist at a local community college, where I have tutored students in a variety of chemistry courses on an individual and small group basis. Although a majority of my experience has been at the college level, I also have experience tutoring high school students as well.
Teaching Style
I am very passionate about teaching and enjoy working with students of all ages. I believe that every student has their own personal style of learning and will work to find the method that works best suits them. I am easy going, patient, and considerate. I believe given the right learning environment and encouragement, any student is capable of achieving academic success. I have a genuine interest in the success of my students. It is more than simply assisting them with the course material it is also encouraging them to stay on track to achieve their goals. My previous experience has given me the insight and understanding to identify weaknesses, which allows me greater success in assisting the students along their educational path.
