Experience Summary
While pursuing my BA in International Business and Culture I decided to add additional courses into my schedule enabling me to also receive minors in Mathematics and Spanish. Outside of my studies I worked for two different families in neighboring communities and helped the children in their school work. Although the girls did not always find my math jokes as funny as I did, they have all excelled in their studies, especially math. Whether it was a subject that I had experience in specialized courses in, or not, I assisted the girls in studying, practicing good study behaviors and note taking in all subjects.
Teaching Style
My teaching style can best be described as interactive and positive. Although my specialty is in math, I enjoy helping students in other areas of need. I continuously try to incorporate the different ways I have been taught the same or similar material, adding a bit of humor or activity, that makes it easy for them to understand. I have seen from my experience that each person sees problems and theories differently, so by adapting a learning technique to the individual’s needs makes it possible for them to better understand the concept.
