Experience Summary
Living, studying and working in Ghana, the UK and the US has given me the opportunity to meet people of different backgrounds interacting, impacting and learning from them. I studied at the London School of Economics for my Masters in Operational Research as a Commonwealth Fellowship Scholar. As a consulting analyst at Citigroup, I had the privilege of applying my academic training by working on a project to stress test consumer credit risks. Throughout my studies for both of my Masters degrees, I have exercised and developed my knowledge of academic and business report writing. I have also enjoyed varied teaching opportunities: GRE & GMAT Quantitative Prep Coach, graduate teaching assistant, summer instructor and tutoring.
Teaching Style
I am an adherent of the one-size-doesn't-fit-all policy. I always try to identify with each student's strength and weakness for a course and adapt to their pace. I make my teaching interesting by being passionate about it, well prepared for the class and also explaining concepts with humor and clarity while holding their interest and attention span. I do not make assumptions on student's strengths--I try to make sure they know what they are presumed to know. Oftentimes, it was helpful when I gave a crush course on concepts they are required to know. As we study together, we work to build student's confidence through understanding and command of the subject, alleviating their fear and making test taking a wonderful experience.
