Experience Summary
As a public school teacher for approximately 20 years+, my experiences have been very extensive. I taught students of all abilities ranging from 1st grade to post-secondary (two-year college program). I have earned a BA degree in English and an MS degree as a Reading Specialist. My teaching experiences include instructing English, Reading, Writing, GED, Adult Education, ESL, and Early Childhood Education. As a GED instructor, I successfully taught Mathematics, Science Reading, Social studies Reading, and Algebra. During the last year, I tutored students in Reading and basic Education.
Teaching Style
Because I believe in the success of all students regardless of present levels, my students have had significant success in all areas and have gained positive feelings and confidence in themselves as life-long learners. I love children and want to impart to them a desire to keep striving for the best. It is important to try different methods and strategies to reach the needs of each individual child. Instruction must be differentiated and made enjoyable to tap into students' creativity and interests. All Students Are Learners and Are Special!
