Experience Summary
I love teaching and learning. I made the Dean's List the entire time I attended UNM. I have always had a passion for education.
I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, which has enabled me to teach kindergarten through 12th grade. I also obtained my master's degree in Literacy at UNM. I was a Reading Specialist for three years and love working with children and helping them with their reading skills. During the last ten years I have taught kindergarten through High School and tutored students in reading. I have also substitute taught in an array of classes from science to social studies in the public schools.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with children of all ages. I believe children all learn differently. I am able to individualize any lesson to meet a child's needs. I have been working with children over the course of the last ten years and am a mother of one. I am a firm believer that children learn though utilizing an array of teaching strategies and techniques. I am patient, easy going, dependable and hard working. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a child with plenty of opportunities to observe, ask questions and critically think in a fun and welcoming environment.
