Experience Summary
I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology and a minor in French. During my college experience, I worked with students of various ages, from elementary school through college, in different capacities, including tutor, mentor, guidance intern, and teaching assistant. I have tutored students in English, psychology, geology, mathematics, Spanish, general sciences, technology, and history. I have a strong academic background, earning various scholarships and membership in several honor societies, as well as recognition for my research work. Beyond my college experiences, I served at a parish this past spring in San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala teaching English classes at a local primary school.
Teaching Style
After many years as a student, I recognize what a difference a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and caring teacher can make in a child's educational experience. I strive to fulfill this role, emphasizing interactive and hands-on learning at deeper levels of processing. I have worked with students struggling with motivation, learning disabilities, psychological, and physical issues; I firmly believe that all children can learn, and learn best if their needs, barriers, and learning type (e.g., auditory) are considered individually. I am patient, flexible, non-judgmental, creative, and caring. I am passionate about working with and for others.
