Experience Summary
I have several years of experience in tutoring. I began as a volunteer tutor for a few chemistry classes during undergraduate study, and was eventually hired as a teaching assistant at Illinois Wesleyan University. I am continuing my education and am enrolled at Loyola University-Chicago for graduate study working towards a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. I was selected for a teaching assistantship for 3 classes at Loyola. I have tutored students in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and other classes in physics.
Teaching Style
I believe that all students have the ability to learn any material. However, many students have different ways of doing so. By identifying the students strong points, one can help the student learn. Also, one can relate information that the student doesn't know to things that the student knows a lot about, making learning much easier.
With the appropriate surroundings and certain guidance, I believe that any student can improve and exceed expectations.
