Experience Summary
As a recent Purdue University graduate, I have had the opportunity to learn about the most current and effective teaching strategies. I have worked with students who range in ability, from children who are highly-abled to children with special needs. My previous experience includes being a babysitter, camp counselor, daycare provider, Sunday School teacher, mentor, tutor, teaching assistant, and I have had multiple classroom experiences through my Purdue courses. I also taught a summer chemistry class for highly-abled elementary students and student taught in the first grade. The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing the progress that students make each day! I love working with children and continually seek opportunities to do so.
Teaching Style
As a teacher, my job is to meet each student’s academic needs through instruction based on their individual learning style. My responsibility is not only to educate students academically, but to also inspire and support their personal growth. I strive to provide engaging and motivating activities for students, which instills a love for learning and decreases behavior problems. I aspire to develop students who are responsible and are equipped with problem-solving tools to use throughout their lives. I do my best to model good character and wise choices in hopes that I will instill such traits in my students. My goal is to challenge each student at their own level and help them reach their full potential.
