Experience Summary
I recently graduated with BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. While in school I worked as a tutor for 2 years. I tutored college students in mathematics and science. I was one of the few tutors who could tutor higher calculus level math. I received all A’s in differential, integral, vector and differential equations calculus. All lower level calculus classes I completed in high school. I worked for two well known companies as an electrical and design engineer. I worked for Intel Corp. and Garmin AT (producer of GPS systems). My unique experience: great academics in math and engineering, extended experience as a tutor, and hands on engineering experience at Intel and Garmin makes me a well rounded and a knowledgeable tutor.
Teaching Style
Through my experience as a tutor I learned that each student is different. I strive to recognize that difference and use it to emphasize learning strategies. I provided customized teaching for each student based on their prior mathematical knowledge and progress. As a tutor my goal is to expand student’s abilities in logical, abstract, and scientific thinking and to promote deeper understanding and farther exploration of the subject. I motivate students to be proactive in their math courses. I think that the best tutoring is when you can put a student on their own feet in the shortest amount of time; where student would not require your help any longer but understands how to learn efficiently and productively on their own.
