Experience Summary
My initial exposure to teaching came when I had the opportunity to volunteer in an elementary school. I assisted and tutored students with academic subjects as well as recreational activities. This experience was extremely rewarding. I have also tutored college students in math, business courses and pre-law. The skills I have mastered in law school are ones that I use with my students to assist and encourage them to strive for academic excellence.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with children and I have learned that different children require different approaches to learning and problem solving. Each child may have a unique learning style which makes an individualized teaching strategy appropriate. Self -esteem is very important for students to be able to learn and accomplish goals as well as overcome any obstacles standing in their way. I believe that students must be given reinforcement and praise to motivate them and enhance their learning experience. I am drawn to the profession of teaching because it will fulfill a desire in me to help children and contribute to society while imparting knowledge to the next generation of leaders.
