Experience Summary
I am a graduate of St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. The education I received along with three years of experience as a college level calculus teacher's assistant give me the tools necessary to be an effective tutor in the field of mathematics. I have a passion for learning, as well as a passion for helping others achieve their educational goals.
Teaching Style
Since I am a visual learner, whenever applicable I like to visually bring the material to life. It is important to me that the student understand the concepts and be able to convey that understanding without having to refer to the textbook. With this in mind, I will go through the concepts with the students and follow that up with asking them to explain everything back to me. I have found that one of the best ways to learn a subject is to teach that subject. I learned far more in calculus as a teacher’s assistant than I ever did as a student, so I try to capitalize on that as much as possible.
