Experience Summary
I am different from most teachers in the fact that I have 23 years of teaching experience, spread throughout grades 1-8. I also have a unique background in Early Childhood Education, having spent one year at the St. Cloud State Campus Lab School’s Preschool, and more recently having begun a Preschool program at Guardian Angels School. In addition, I established a before and after school child care program, which I ran for five years. I see teaching as a vocation. My desire to leave the world a better place drives me to ensure that each student receives my best efforts. I have been told by many people that I work very well with students in one-on-one situations.
Teaching Style
I want each of my students to reach their full potential, and have some fun along the way. The experience of twenty-three years in the classroom has taught me a great deal about how to address a wide range of skills and abilities in students. I know that some students learn better using auditory means, while others learn more visually, or that some are linguistic learners, some spatial learners, and some learn through body kinesthetics. I would need to know how the students in my care learn best, and then structure a curriculum to fit those needs. Conferring with parents would be an invaluable tool to assist me in my teaching.
