Experience Summary
Graduating from Rockhurst University with my MBA (focus in accounting) in the summer of 2004, I went on to start my accounting career at Ernst and Young, LLP, a public accounting firm. I have remained at Ernst and Young for the past 6 years. During this time, I obtained my CPA, and through the years, I have worked my way to be promoted to Manager. Last year I joined the Ernst and Young training program which allowed me to be an instructor in training new staff accountants.
Teaching Style
I love being able to share the knowledge I acquired through both my education and career experience. Having "real life" accounting experience, allows me to provide real examples for class room material. In turn, my examples allow accounting students to better relate to the class room material. Further, as I was a student who had to apply 100% of myself in understanding the material I was learning, I have the skills to simplify the material so the students can fully understand the basic concept and add onto their knowledge of that basic understanding. I believe students who are given the opportunity to fully understand the basic concepts, can then build onto the basics and thrive as both accounting students and future accountants.
