Experience Summary
I have been teaching in many aspects over the last decade. After receiving my BA from Wheelock College, I have been a teacher in many areas. I have taught Oppositional Defiant 11-13 year olds, 1st grade in California, a third grade Structured English Immersion class in Phoenix, been a Newspaper in Education Coordinator, kindergarten, then first grade, and then fifth grade in California, and now .I have been working as a long-term substitute teacher as well as a daily substitute. I began taking Master's classes for ESL in California, and then I finished my Master's of Education after we moved to Minnesota. I enjoy writing and researching education.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and feel that it is what I was meant to do. I believe that all people can learn given the appropriate environment and tools. I am creative and enjoy finiding unique ways that will help any child to succeed with their learning. The student should always be the one to discover how to solve a problem, the teacher should simply be there as their guide. I strive to make a difference in my students' lives by helping them to become independent learners.
