Experience Summary
My career began with a ‘Big 5’ CPA company in San Francisco. I have held a number of accounting and general business positions over a 25-year period. I have served as controller, responsible for the proper application of accounting rules, and as Chief Financial Officer, responsible for compliance with all governmental and industry rules and regulations. During that time I have learned to apply what I learned in school to the real world. I chose this profession, because integrity is an important part of who I am. An important addition to my balanced life is the ten years I have spent as a coach in Special Olympics. I was a charter member of the coaching staff of the Tri-Valley Rockets, a youth team centered in Pleasanton-Livermore.
Teaching Style
My teach style begins with a desire to improve the lives of everyone with whom I come in contact. I take great pleasure in helping others reach their goals. In a phrase, my style is both nurturing and demanding. I have tutored at-risk you men who might deserve sympathy. However, while I am with them I hold them accountable for learning what has been put in front of them. Although I have no formal training as a teacher, I take a lot of lessons from my wife. She is a first grade teacher in Dublin.
