Experience Summary
I have extensive experience as a tutor. I have been tutoring for 10 years. I tutored learning disabled children as well as struggling children in a variety of subjects. I also worked in an after school program for elementary school children helping them with homework and projects. I have a BA degree in psychology and have my Master Teacher Permit in early childhood education. I also am in the process of obtaining my 30 day Substitute Teacher Credential for Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Teaching Style
I use an easy manner in my tutoring and use my sense of humor to build rapport with children. I strive to make learning fun and interactive. I do not just hand out worksheets and require reading. I am a hands on tutor. I also help children understand the concepts behind the learning, rather than rote memorization of material. I know that all children learn differently and I adjust my teaching methods to suit the child's style of learning.
