Experience Summary
I taught and coordinated ESE in both resource and self contained elementary classrooms in Florida until starting a family. As a contractor to IBM World Trade, I tutored the families of Italian, Spanish and Portuguese speaking foreign assignees.
As a parent I founded an activist group for gifted students in Palm Beach County, FL. I founded the Mother's Center chapter for early child development in Boca Raton, FL and co-founded a charter school for gifted students in Chapel Hill, NC. I have maintained my certifications with 40 graduate credits.
Teaching Style
I am personally motivated toward education and understand the challenge learning can be to some students. My first language was Italian, not English. I overcame this primary education handicap to graduate with high honors in 4 years yet earning both bachelors and masters degrees.
Having this great passion for education, I am highly enthusiastic and motivated to contribute my skills to create a healthy learning environment, regardless of any limitations a student may perceive. It is my goal to enrich the lives of each student with whom I interact. I believe it is these qualities along with my experience that makes me uniquely qualified as tutor.
