Experience Summary
As a graduate of Alcorn State University, I have become very resourceful, which helps me to point others in the right direction. In civil, volunteer, and academic work, I have gained experience in team leadership, excellent written and verbal skills, and youth education.
I was awarded the opportunity to work with small groups of elementary and high school students, as well as one-on-one with my peers. I have also completed numerous research papers, which acquainted me with different styles of literature review and writing.
I have tutored a plethora of students in the areas of composition, business writing, grammar, and GRE and ACT Preparation.
Teaching Style
Each student is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to mature emotionally, physically and socially. As a potential educator, it is my responsibility to help every student meet his or her fullest potential by providing an environment that would allow them to grow.
There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the Instructor acting as a guide, (2) allowing the student’s curiosity about the subject matter direct his/her style of learning and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people.
