Experience Summary
I am a highly experienced, result-driven professional with a passion for teaching/tutoring science, math, and engineering. I am also a graduate with a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from IIlinois Institute of Technology and Bachelors in Chemsitry from the University of Illinois. As a student, I was driven to achieve excellence in education and passionate on learning new subject matters. My interest in Science and Math translated in superior grades, recognition by my college professors, and motivation to tutor to help others succeed. I have tutored high school students, college students, and continuing education students in Math, Algebra, Analytical Chemistry,General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering.
Teaching Style
If I can't get excited about my subject, why should my students? I believe anyone can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. A few good educators can make a world of difference in anyone's education.
The teachers who I have had that stand out in my memory have some attributes in common: they presented subjects in a way that caught my interest, clarified difficult topics, and led me through complex areas by putting knowledge into context so that its relevance was apparent. These role models have influenced my approach to teaching: I view myself primarily as a facilitator of learning, rather than as an expert who simply delivers information to students.
