Experience Summary
After graduating with a degree in Biochemistry the last five years have been spent learning as much as possible about teaching science to high school students. Substitute teaching in multiple districts informed graduate work culminating with an MS in Science Education. The last two years have been spent teaching chemistry to multiple levels of a diverse student body in a regional high school. In addition, I have experience coaching youth and HS soccer teams.
Teaching Style
I teach with the understanding that students learn best when given the tools to unlock the resources in and around them. Fortunately science education provides a fantastic platform for training a mind to access them. I am very interested in questions without easy answers and learner directed activities. I believe children are measured by infinitely more than a GPA and treat them as such. Learning is a never-ending process and I’ll model a patient yet persistent attitude for all, never settling for complacency.
