Experience Summary
Life is the greatest teacher. Throughout my life I have been presented with numerous opportunities to expand upon my natural abilities. At a young age I was bilingual in English & Spanish which opened up opportunities for me to informally translate in my community. I have always had a thirst for knowledge& my wide experience base enabled me to tutor high school&college level &special needs students in math, science, communication, social studies, English,dance, test prep,etc. My love of helping people learn also inspired me to be a substitute teacher for students from K-12th grade. Working with students on an individual basis as well as with groups of kids is very enjoyable & my skills as a teacher continuously improve.
Teaching Style
My easy going nature and fun personality allows me to make learning interesting. I have always believed that the best way for someone to learn is to put the information into terms that are understandable to them. In the past I have used illustrations, acted out scenes from battles, utilized initialisms, and made up songs to help students learn concepts. Connections between the content and familiar concepts are essential, and thus I find it very important to get to know the student and how they learn in order to best help them. My goal is to make sure that all my students are able to reach their educational goals, and ultimately by the end of our sessions my students will be able to teach the information to someone else.
