Experience Summary
As a recent college graduate with my BA in elementary education I am highly motivated to provide learner centered tools to engage and motivate students. I have been able to incorporate these principles into my own classroom as a long term substitute in a 6th grade Language Arts and History class. During my experiences I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of learners, including; English as a second language, multi-level students, sped, and highly capable students. My experience has also allowed me to work in many collaborative environments to create student assessments and measure student growth. Although my experiences are limited to one year they have all be very worth while for me as an educator.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is very distinctive to the students learning needs. I believe that the educator is a facilitator of the information and must be able to differentiate the instruction to the needs of the learner. I also believe that the educator must provide meaningful instruction and assessments to show the student their growth and gains throughout the teaching. Most importantly, providing a safe and excepting environment is my goal, fostering higher level thinking and progress in students.
