Experience Summary
I have taught in the Clark County School District for 2 years in Las Vegas, NV. I taught first grade and worked as the grade level chair my second year, coordinating assessments and implementing new grade level assessments. I worked with urban students in a low income school. I also have a minor in special education and have worked as an in home therapist for children with Autism. I have my CPR/First Aid/ AED certification until 2013.
Teaching Style
I am a very hands on teacher. I like to make learning fun and not boring. I know that all children have the ability to learn have a special education minor to help me teach ALL students. I like to use different approaches for each student as they all learn in different ways. I also firmly believe that each student needs to be met where they are at and taught from that point. Students need to feel successful and safe in the environment in which they are taught in. They should be able to know they can try things that might be a little difficult and feel encouraged and excited to learn new things. Parent should also be included in their learning experiences to encourage their child as well.
