Experience Summary
I am a physician who loves to learn and wishes to help students achieve academic success. In addition to earning a Doctor of Medicine Degree, I also have a B.S. in Chemistry and a M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science. I have experience in tutoring English, Reading, Math, and Science. While in high school I tutored other students in Physics, and in college, I tutored elementary students in reading. As a graduate student, I tutored students in History, English, and Sociology for the UAB Athletic Department. I also coordinated a reading program for 3rd grade students at North Birmingham Elementary School.
Teaching Style
My desire is to help students reach their full potential. I make an effort to communicate with students, parents, and teachers to identify a student's weaknesses and assess their style of learning. I strive to make learning fun and enjoyable by giving encouragement and praise. I struggled in some math classes as a child, so I also seek to serve as an example that with hard work, determination, and dedication, academic success be achieved. Lastly, I am patient, kind, and enjoy working with students of all ages.
