Experience Summary
I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University. The field of industrial engineering draws much from statistics. Therefore a large portion of the curriculum is comprised of statistics courses. I have a background in basic statistics, regression analysis, data mining, design of experiments, statistical forecasting, and quality control. During my master’s program I taught a weekly session for the undergraduate course, statistics for engineers. I also provided one on one tutoring during a teaching assistantship for an undergraduate business course which taught operations research basics.
Teaching Style
I believe that understanding statistics is not beyond the grasp of any student. The first step lies in understanding the underlying principles. Once this is grasped, only practice is needed to give the student the degree of confidence needed to solve such problems on a test or homework assignment.
