Experience Summary
After many years working in higher education and the arts, I made a career change into elementary education. While working toward that degree, I worked in middle school and some high school as an aide. I worked with students in all subjects, but my natural coursework is in English. I was an English minor in school and love literature and composition. As a teacher in fifth grade, I taught persuasive writing, narrative, expository and informational writing.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all children. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways. I am available to help your child find academic success. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. A few good educators can make a world of difference in a child's education. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
