Experience Summary
As both a high school student and a college undergraduate, I have cultivated both an interest and extensive knowledge in both the French language and the history and theory of Western music. In addition, since the majority of the work done in my two fields of interest is in research and writing, I also have an excellent command of the English language. I have several years of experience in tutoring/instructing students in such varied areas as European History, French language, music theory, and oboe performance.
Teaching Style
I particularly enjoy working with students in a one-on-one setting, or in small groups. I believe the intimate, personal environment is very conducive to the learning process and is one of the main advantages of tutoring over the traditional classroom setting. Particularly with music and foreign languages, having an opportunity for the student to practice with active feedback from a more experience individual is invaluable.
