Experience Summary
I have taught both regular and special education, early childhood, speech/language correction, and elementary Spanish, before moving into supervisor, principal and, finally, superintendent positions in public schools in southern NJ. As an administrator, I have mentored teachers, given workshops, and focused on the best professional development possible. Early reading, writing, and math skills are my passion, although I have taught students from 4-18 years of age.
Teaching Style
I love working with children and have continued to find ways to instruct even during my time as an adminstrator. I am fully trained and certified in Orton-Gillingham techniques to help children and adults with dyslexia. I enjoy helping my students discover connections as they learn, and use engaging, hands-on techniques to keep lessons interesting. I incorporate fun (including origami) whenever possible, especially important when working with children at the end of a long day!
