Experience Summary
When I was enrolled in the Physics graduate program of the University of Ankara, I also was offered the opportunity to be a member of the Physics Lab team. Our duties included, but not limited to, preparing for various courses and setting up the experiment tables for various classes; troubleshooting and partial repairing of the electronics and equipment, and also helping the students with their experiments.
Later in New York, I had the opportunity of going back to the academic environment again where I taught University Physics which included classroom lectures and Lab teachings.
Teaching Style
I believe a basic knowledge of Physics and Mathematics is necessary for a Physics student who wants to further his knowledge and study a higher level course. In my teaching, I always start from the basics and build upon it. Whenever I need to give examples, I refer to daily events which happen in our real lives. This makes the subject real, practical and more understandable. Depending on the goal of a course, I can give conceptual teaching, or go deep into the Calculus of Physics.
In my opinion a teacher must not only be knowledgeable, but also patient and friendly with an easygoing personality. This is the key for successful teaching.
