Experience Summary
After I received my doctorate, I joined the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and was assigned to and still work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). I have just completed my first 10 years at CDC where I have been involved with mentoring and teaching several undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, interns and fellows. I have extensive experience in the application and teaching of math, statistics, nursing, epidemiology and biology as well as writing skills. I have over 60 scientific publications.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching all levels of students, interns and fellows. For this reason I am obtaining my certificate in teaching english as a second language to children and adults.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with children, teenagers, young and older adults. I believe all can learn but each person has their own style of learning so the teacher needs to know how to find academic success for each student. I am patient, easy going and give positive constructive feedback for providing a constructivist appraoch to learning. I strive to make a difference in all my students' lives.
