Experience Summary
After graduating from Syracuse University with a BSW and a minor in Psychology. I was sent to Baltimore, MD through the Teach For America program. While teaching for 5 years in Baltimore, I went back to school and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching. I then moved back to New Jersey and have been teaching here for 2 years. For the past 6 of my 7 years of teaching, I have taught Language Arts to students in grades K-college level students. Throughout highschool and in college, I completed Spanish courses up until Spanish 4 on the college level. I speak Spanish frequently with my parents whose first language is Spanish.
Teaching Style
I am a hard working creative person. Having taught in both the urban and surburban areas, I know that every student can learn when their individual needs are met. I love to see the "lightbulb" go off in my students' heads, especially when they didn't believe that they could do it. I never allow my students to use the word can't. I tell them they can, they might need assistance, but they can do it. No excuses!
