Experience Summary
My objective in attaining a Ph.D, was to create the opportunity for myself to teach Biology related courses at any level. My graduate school experience was a fantastic springboard for gaining experience in teaching an array of biology courses. As tutor for an academic excellence program, I worked with students, in small group settings. We explored complex material at depth, and inspired ownership of the learning process. After Graduating from CU, I earned a position as an Assistant Professor at MSCD, before choosing to move to the mountains a find my spirit fulfilled. Presently I teach for Colorado Mountain College in both Aspen & Spring Valley.
Teaching Style
My true passion in life is for teaching. Since I was a teen, I have gravitated toward teaching, and have been blessed to be continually drawn back to my gift – teaching! My multiple years of experience and education in teaching methods and learning styles have lent themselves well to my success in helping students grasp very complex scientific concepts. Students find my unique life-related “stories” that parallel biological processes extremely useful in remembering the intricacies of each process for exam time and beyond.
