Experience Summary
I was appointed at PS 21 in September 2004 and have been there every since. During my tenure I have taught 6th, 5th and currently 4th grade. I am trained in balanced literacy meeting the standards for ELA. I have worked with students on both sides of the learning spectrum and implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each student.
I am responsible for state testing mandates and a full curriculum which includes math, science, social studies and literacy.
Teaching Style
I use hard (testing scores) and soft (observation) data to improve student performance. Evaluation of students is an on going process and I prefer to conference with students so they have clear expectations of what is expected of them in regards to routines, assignments and overall performance throughout our time together.
Students that are held accountable for their actions and are motivated properly will improve and continue to grow in their academic endeavors. I maintain a loving and passionate dialog that intends to foster self efficacy and personal growth both socially and academically.
